ASHILL COMMUNITY SCHOOL
PARENTS, TEACHERS AND FRIENDS ASSOCIATION

Our Aims

Ask any PTFA and they will say that the children at the school are their main concern. At Ashill, we believe they are an absolute priority and, thanks to the tremendous community spirit that exists in Ashill and the surrounding area, we have benefited from tremendous fundraising success as well as outstanding support for the school as a whole.
Our Successes
With a large network of members and an enthusiastic committee, Ashill PTFA is committed to providing those special little extras that make learning more fun and which can help to broaden the childrenís horizons. For example, we organise and fund the school disco, the annual school fete, Easter Egg hunt and a host of other events around the village. We are also able to provide books, coaches for school trips and a special visit from you know who at Christmas as well as software and musical instruments. In addition, we held a Promises Auction which raised over £2,000 towards the purchase of new school computers.
Member Network
We dont believe in a rigid committee membership as such and, apart from the statutory requirements for a chair, treasurer and secretary, rely on the support of a host of people who provide help and support as and when they wish to. These people are our specialists and can help with a range of tasks from food supply and preparation through to one-off event organisation, stage management and public/press relations.
Come and join us
If you are interested in joining us, either as a committee member or as one of our supporting members, why not come along to our next meeting? You'll be sure of a warm welcome.

Dear Friend or Parent of Ashill School
We have been asked, by both parents and friends of the School to establish a School Covenant Scheme. This would mean that those who are unable to give their time to school events, for whatever reason, could still help to provide funding for the extra items and children's activities that the school finds difficdt to fund.
The PTFA was very successful last year in raising over £5,500, (£2,633 of which has been used to fund new computer equipment) and we thank you once again, for your generosity.
This year, it is hoped that we can maintain this level of funding by asking you to join out Covenant Scheme. If you would be interested in joining this scheme a standing order form for monthly payments or if you prefer a single donation, can be obtained with further details from the school secretary, Chris Hood, on 01823 480637 or office@ashill.somerset.sch.uk. All details will be in strictest confidence.
Of course, we shall continue to arrange a number of events throughout the year. If you can join us we would be very pleased to see you.
In the meantime, we hope you can support this new initiative - the children really do appreciate these extra items and activities. Thank you for your help.

Yours sincerely
Graeme Price
Chair PTFA
