Tuesday 17th December at 2.00pm and Wednesday 18th December at 7.00pm
in the Hall the schoolchildren will be performing "Stable Story"
a musical Christmas Nativity play. After the wednesday evening performance
please stay and have a pre-Christmas get-together. Refreshments available
Thursday 12th December 6.30pm. School Christmas Carol concert in the Church
followed by mulled wine and mince pies, provided by the PTFA, and a raffle
in the school. Everybody welcome
Wednesday 11th December Christmas Meat Bingo. Doors open at 6.30pm, eyes
down at 7.30 Beef, Lamb, Pork, Turkey, Christmas puddings and other seasonal
prizes. Raffle.
Wednesday 27th November 8.00pm Meat Bingo at the Village Hall
Saturday 30th November. Church Christmas Fayre at the Village Hall starting
at 2.30pm. Lots of bargains, produce, toys plants and cakes, also a bottle
stall, raffles and refreshments. Agreat way to spend an afternoon. Raised
£1050 for church funds
OPEN HOUSE AT HIGHER BARTON - Thursday, 7th November 2-7pm. Our third
annual sale of local crafts. Following the arrival of my new studio earlier
this year, we have extended the range of crafts to include decorative
painting, ceramics, floral displays, patchwork, pottery, jewellery and
cards. Refreshments will also be available with the proceeds going to
the Ferne Animal Sanctuary.

Saturday 2nd November 2002 , Ashill Village Hall will be the venue for
talented local craftsmen and women to sell a variety of hand made goods
to the public at a Craft Fair.The event will be heavily advertised in
the press, local radio, roadside signs, posters and leaflets and entry
to the public will be free.Refreshments will be available throughout the
day, profits from these going to the Ashill Village Hall Fund.Some stalls
are still available; full details from Susan Horne 01823 480488 or Margaret
Harper 01823 481099. Demand for space is expected to be high, so please
book early to avoid disappointment.
Wednesday 30th October 8.00pm Meat Bingo at the Village Hall
Thursday 17th October Christmas Floral Demonstration. Angie Collins, the
proprietor of "Cottage Flowers" in Ilminster, will be giving
a demonstration of Christmas Floral Decorations in Ashill Village Hall
commencing at 7.30pm. Tickets at £2.50 , to include tea/coffee and
biscuits, are available from Ralph Eales 01823 481429. In aid of Village

Saturday 14th September Friends of Somerset Churches and Chapels sponsored
bike ride and walk. Last year almost £850 was raised by St. Mary's
Church with half of that amount going direct to the Church. Can we achieve
the £1000 this year? Details and sponsorship forms for volunteer
cyclists/walkers as well as those "manning" the Church throughout

Saturday 7th September Ashill Playing Field Annual Late Summer Dance Nite
and Barbecue at Wood Road ( Phil Underhill's Barn). Music by Goliath +
Disco. Bar, food, bottle stall etc.. Tickets £7 each from committee

A fun packed evening raising funds for playgroup and toddlers, being held
at
Ashill Village Hall.
Ticket holders are entitled to a free drink, unlimited delicious puddings
and
choose two treatments to pamper yourself, from a manicure, tanning treatment,
make over, indian head massage and more. Raised over £600 for the
playgroup
Tuesday 16th July. 6.30pm at the Village Hall Summertime Music from Ashill
School. A great success, well played and organised.
Saturday 6th July School Fete at the School between 11.00am and 2.00pm.

Sunday 31st March Easter Egg Hunt on the playing fields. Organised by
the PTFA and the Eagles Carnival Club. £110 raised.

November 24th Christmas fayre was held in the village hall. Over £940
was raised for St. Mary's Church.
14th October Harvest Thanksgiving over £150 raised for a charity
to help farmers hit by the foot-and-mouth epidemic.
29th September Harvest Supper. A profit of £350 was made for Church
funds. Grateful thanks to all who came, helped, supplied food and raffle
prizes
28th September PTFA Auction of Promises - raised over £2400
8th September The Summer Barbecue and Dance Night, with Old Dogs New Trix,
organized by the playing field committee was a great success and enjoyed
by all, approximately £900 (nett) was raised to maintain and improve
our playing field.
8th September Annual sponsored bike ride and walk in aid of Somerset churches
and chapels. The final figure raised by Ashill cyclists will not be known
for some time - we'll keep you posted
