Ashill Baptist Church - A brief history
Ashill Baptist Church is situated at Windmill Hill. It was renovated and re-opened in 1885, however it had been open for some years before. It is reputed to have been a slaugherhouse originally. Before the building was used, Baptists had to travel to Hatch Beauchamp Baptist Church, since then Ashill has been closely linked with Hatch and has shared the same Minister. In 1947 an adjoining stone cattle shed was converted into a Sunday school room. Other improvements have included a lower ceiling improving heating and removal of adjoining old farm buildings making the car park much bigger. Further upgrading is currently taking place
